Elder Scrolls VI – Is The Wait Going to be Worth it?
The first Elder Scrolls VI teaser trailer was released in 2018 and since then it’s been pretty much radio silence from Bethesda Studios.
Of course, that left tons of room for speculations, daydreaming, possible leaks, and a whole lot of lies. But it’s still an interesting topic, and something that the gaming world won’t let go until we know more — so, let’s talk about it!
Keep in mind that even here, all the things I say are not confirmed yet or might not get confirmed ever. With that in mind, we can dive in.
Release Date
Let’s start with the release date for The Elder Scrolls VI.
Personally, I think the game won’t be released before late 2027 and if you ask some more knowledgeable fans, even they think it won’t happen before 2026. That would make it over 9 years since the teaser and over 15 years since the release of Skyrim. Time flies for sure — but maybe not that quickly for fans.
While what we have is amazing — Elder Scrolls V and all the DLCs are undoubtedly incredible — the world is ready for more.
Gameplay
So you must be thinking that the game with so much time spent in development is going to be something else, a next gen, the game of the year material. However, I wouldn’t get my hopes up until we get to play the game or atleast see actual footage of the gameplay.
Now, like I’ve said earlier, there isn’t much information but if we use logic we can kinda guess a few things that “will/might” happen. Starting with a combat and skill system, I believe that we will see major updates/improvements from already existing ones. But also there will be a bunch of new stuff implemented that will allow even bigger customization.
When it comes to the open world and map size, there was some speculation on where the story will be happening and how large the map will be. Even though we can’t confirm anything, I believe that we’ll have a bigger world to explore filled with a vast choice of interesting things to do around.
I don’t see it going any other way, it just fits with the most famous experience when it comes to playing the Elder Scrolls – the freedom you have over your character and what it does and all the ways you can interact with the world are pretty much second to none.
One of the things that one of the developers slipped up on is that there won’t be any multiplayer mode. And I do believe them when they say that but also that doesn’t mean there won’t be any microtransactions. Another thing that we’ll have to wait to see when the actual game drops.
Graphics and audio
This is another thing that you might be inclined to think will be better than you expect. Partially you’ll be right but also you have to keep in mind no matter how well they do, they’ll probably won’t meet most expectations.
Mainly because after so much time, people’s expectations get higher, not lower. “Oh they’ve spent over a decade on a game, it’s going to be a banger”. It’s better to wait before making any opinions.
Final words of the wisdom
Hopefully we get more information in the upcoming year. And if we do, you can expect even more detailed in depth thoughts about the game. Until then, I wish you happy gaming.
