Best Collector’s Edition Games

Most gamers now buy games digitally—it’s cheaper, more convenient, and saves storage. But nothing beats having a physical library to remind you of all the adventures you’ve had with your favorite characters.

It gets even better with collector’s editions, which come with character art, statues, and other cool items. Sure, they’re pricey, but the extras are often mind-blowing.

You don’t have to buy every collector’s edition, but owning one for your favorite game is a dream. For me, it’s Ghost of Tsushima or God of War (though that’s probably just because they top my list). If those aren’t your thing, there are plenty of others to explore.

To help you out, I’ve rounded up some of the best collector’s edition games for you to check out. Whether you’re adding to your collection or looking for the perfect gift, these editions are totally worth it.

1. Ghost of Tsushima Collector’s Edition

best collector's edition games: ghost of tsushima
Version 1.0.0

Ghost of Tsushima has to be one of the best games of the past decade. I know it’s certainly one of my favorites. The story is brilliant and immersive, the world rich in detail and lore. And the visuals are vibrant and mesmerizing.

Because of all of that and more, I’m so glad that this game has a collector’s edition. And such an awesome one at that. Obviously, you get the physical copy of the game. But with that, you also get an art book, a Sakai mask, a steelcase, in-game skins, cloth maps, and more.

Now, originally, this collector’s edition was an affordable $169.99. However, it being limited, it sold out pretty quickly and now you can only find it with resellers for almost $500, which might be a bit much.

But with Ghost of Tsushima 2 coming out soon in the form of Ghost of Yotei, one can hope that they’ll either make more of this edition or that we’ll get a brand new one.

2. God of War Ragnarök Collector’s Edition

God of War is probably one of the most successful franchises ever, and for a good reason. The games are all brilliant. I loved playing God of War and following along as the story developed. It’s almost like a movie you get to participate in, so the experience alone is worth the effort.

And it’s amazing that Ragnarok got such an awesome collector’s edition. Not only do you get a steelcase and in-game items, but you also get a dwarven dice set, a Mjölnir replica (16 in), the knowledge keeper’s shrine, and the Vanir twins carvings. A digital copy of the game is included as well, so if you haven’t played it yet (for some reason), this is a great incentive.

You get so many items to display on your shelves, and if you got the one for the previous installment in the franchise (the one with the Kratos and Atreus statue), you can improve your collection.

And fortunately, this one is reasonably priced at $194.96 on Amazon, and it’s still available in many places, so you won’t have any trouble finding it.

3. Titanfall and Titanfall 2 Collector’s Edition

Titanfall’s Collector’s edition is probably the most coveted one out there, and you can clearly see why. The 18 inch Titan figure with a diorama, of course. It’s a beautiful item, and well worth the original price of $250. Unfortunately, thanks to resellers, the price now sits at around $400 but I would still say it’s worth it — I mean, come on, it lights up.

In addition to the Titan statue, you also get a schematic poster and a pretty big artbook, with some in-game items too. And of course, the game itself.

I would also recommend looking into the Titanfall 2 collector’s edition, because that one offers a full on wearable helmet that comes with a flashlight and lasers. Plus, you get a dog tag flash drive, a scarf, a field journal and more.

This one also cost $250 at its release (which is a steal in my opinion), but is definitely more expensive now.

4. Assassin’s Creed Origins and Odyssey Collector’s Edition

These are probably the most expensive collector’s editions on this list, especially thanks to the Origins one. It was originally priced at a stunning $800, which is too much. The Odyssey is much more affordable at $219.99, but its price has gone up now.

Nevertheless, the Assassin’s Creed franchise is known for its amazing special editions, and the games are pretty good (especially Odyssey), so the items might be worthwhile.

For example, the Dawn of The Creed Legendary includes a 28.7 inch Bayek statue, an art book, a steelbook, lithographs, soundtracks, maps, in-game items and more. And the Odyssey one features a beautiful statue of the protagonist and a cultist in the middle of a battle, along with other things.

So, if you’re a fan of this franchise, I highly recommend checking these two out. Yes, they’re expensive, but could be worth it to the right person.

5. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Collector’s Edition

This is probably one of the most unique collector’s editions I’ve ever seen. While I’m not a huge fan of horror games, I would definitely like to have this item.

Instead of getting a character statue or a digital artbook like in most cases, you’ll get a mansion from the game. And it’s not just a mansion — it’s a music box that plays the creepy theme song of the game, and it reveals the silhouette of Eveline.

I mean it would be eerie to have it on the shelf, but at the same time, so cool. And just imagine playing Biohazard with the mansion music box chiming in the background!

Resident Evil has pretty great collector’s editions overall, so if you want to have a fuller collection, you can also get the Resident Evil 2 one and get a statue of a character from that game.

6. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Collector’s Edition

If you’re a Spider-man fan, this is a must-have for you. I loved the game and the movies too, and I especially love Venom, so this would be a perfect gift for me (hint hint). Anyway, since Spider-man 2 came out relatively recently, the price of this item still sits at a comfortable $200.

And I’d say that it’s worth it, if nothing then just for the statue itself. This edition doesn’t have many other items, but you do get some in-game stuff and the steelcase. So, it’s not doing anything groundbreaking but it’s not bad overall.

You can also consider getting (if you haven’t already), the previous one too since it has a great statue of only Spider-man. It would certainly tell an interesting story displayed on a shelf.

7. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection — Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition

This is another very unique collector’s edition because it doesn’t feature just any character figurine. Instead, it’s a claptrap in a box. You can control it from your smartphone and it speaks up to a dozen phrases from the games. So, it’s a really cool toy, especially if you love Borderlands.

In addition to that, you get Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Borderlands 2 with all the DLCs and a bunch of in-game items.

There’s also a Gentleman’s Edition, where your claptrap has a top hat, monocle, a mustache and a gray color.

These should be around $400 or less.

8. Doom Eternal Limited Edition

This is another game that offers a wearable helmet in its special edition. In addition to that, you get the soundtrack, in-game items, art books and more. If you love wearables, this one is definitely for you.

When it came out, it was around $260, but now it’s a bit more since it’s relatively hard to get.

9. Elden Ring Premium Collector’s Edition

Elden Ring has been extremely popular and well loved since it came out, so it’s no wonder that its special edition is so grand. First of all, the box opens up like a closet, and in it you get so many goodies.

For one, there’s a life-size helmet, which is, of course, wearable (though I would recommend keeping it safe). Then there’s the statue of Malenia, a steelcase, artbooks, and more. It’s truly a beautiful experience for all fans.

It was fairly inexpensive (for what you get) when it came out — it cost about $260, but now it’s extremely hard to find. And when you do find it, it’s extremely expensive. For instance, I found one on eBay that was $1,896.38. Which is just extreme.

10. Horizon Forbidden West Collector’s Edition and Regalla Edition

If you loved Horizon, then you’ll love its collector’s editions — and yes, there’s multiple and the good news is that none of them are extremely expensive. So, in theory, you might be able to catch’em all.

The forbidden west includes the Tremortusk and Aloy statues, a bunch of in-game items, a digital comic book, an art book, a steelcase and more. The Regalla collector’s edition contains Regalla Tremortusk and Aloy statues, a Focus replica, maps, art books, machine strike pieces, art cards, in game items and more.

They’re a bit harder to find now, but their prices certainly don’t soar as high as Elden Ring’s special editions.

And some honorable mentions…

  • Dark Souls III The Prestige Edition
  • Cyberpunk 2077 Special Edition
  • Overwatch Collector’s Edition
  • Death Stranding
  • Fallout 4 Collector’s Edition
  • Dishonored 2 Special Edition
  • Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 Juggernog Edition
  • Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Dark Edition

There are so many beautiful collector’s editions of great games, that I couldn’t not share them with you. If you’re interested in more, here are some awesome collector’s editions you can get right now (with a slideshow below):

Best Upcoming Collector’s Edition Games to Check Out

If you’re looking for a brand new, yet still affordable collector’s edition, then getting one for a new game is your best bet. Even better if the game is not out yet, then your chances are really high.

Of course, not all games have collector’s editions, but of those that do, these are the ones that are most worth buying:

1. Indiana Jones and The Great Circle Collector’s Edition

Whether you love Indy or not, you have to admit that getting a beautiful, vintage-looking globe is cool. The set also features a journal for adventurers and a steelcase, with some in-game items and a dice set. And right now, it’s reasonably priced at $189.99.

If you didn’t hear much about this game, here’s all you need to know before it comes out.

2. Dragon Age: Veilguard Rook’s Coffer

I’m super excited for the new Dragon Age game and this collector’s edition is making it even better. Of course, if you want this collector’s edition, you’ll have to get the game separately since it doesn’t come with the items.

Which is kind of annoying, I’ll be honest, but at least you can play the game first and then decide if it’s worth investing extra money to get shiny (yet expensive) shelf decor.

Rook’s Coffer contains a light-up Lyrium dagger, Rook’s card deck, dice, a cloth map, lithograph, and more. If you want to learn more about the game itself, check out this article here.

3. Assassin’s Creed Shadows Collector’s Edition

If you’re looking forward to the new game in this franchise, you’ll love the collector’s edition. You get Naoe and Yasuke dual character statue, a life-size katana, a wall scroll, a map, lithographs and more. The price is currently $325 which is a bit more expensive, but it might be lower as the release approaches. Here’s all you need to know about Assassin’s Creed Shadows before it launches.
