Upcoming PS5 Games: 10 Exciting Titles (With Dates)

As a PS5 owner, I’m placing my hope in the future and crossing my fingers for some nice PS5 games. Other 40+ million owners are probably on the same page as me. Here is the list of upcoming PS5 games that will be released in the upcoming months:

Spider-Man 2  – October 20, 2023, PS5 Exclusive

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be an action-adventure single-player video game played in a third-person perspective. We will be able to play both Miles Morales and Peter Parker. The game story is set 10 months after events in Spider-Man: Miles Morales. New skill abilities, skins, and mods for web-shooters are added. In addition to everything, we’ll also be able to play Peter when bonded with Venom. That should be really fun. I’ll definitely be playing it and watch out for my thoughts on it soon after.

Ghostrunner 2 – October 26, 2023, PS5, PC, and Xbox

This is gonna be a hardcore sequel to a lighting-fast slasher set in a post-apocalyptic, cyberpunk world. Ghostrunner 2 introduces new skills, abilities, and weapons, allowing players to be more creative and take on even the most demanding encounters with greater accessibility. And they promise boss battles are more epic and interactive. And as a self-proclaimed ninja, I’ll be judge to that. 

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden – February 13, 2024, PS5, PC, and Xbox

Initially set to be released on November 7, this third-person action role-playing video game is set in a haunted community named New Eden. The players will be playing as a pair of ghost hunters named Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith. The pair goes on a mission to investigate and in the process, Duarte becomes a ghost.  Players can make use of both Raith’s conventional weaponry and Duarte’s spirit abilities to combat hostile enemies. And while playing, players will have to make many choices that will affect the outcome of the game.

Phantom Blade Zero – TBA, PS5 and PC

A unique hack and slash RPG game is the type of game that I get Ghost of Tsushima and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice vibe from. Developers haven’t made any announcements about the release date but they said we should get a 30-minute demo in 2024. It’s definitely on my list of games that I wait anxiously to play. Hopefully the wait is not gonna be very long.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, December 7, 2023, PS5, PC and Xbox

Open-world action-adventure game based on the Avatar film series, it’s said to be partially tied to the films, while remaining a standalone. We’ll be playing as Na’vi while exploring a vast and beautiful world named Pandora. From a graphics standpoint, I expect nothing less than a beautiful and mesmerizing experience.

Black Myth: Wukong – 2024, PS5, PC, and Xbox

This action-based RPG is based on the story Journey to the West, one of the Four Great Classic Novels of Chinese literature. An absolute stunner of the game, I do seem like I’m repeating myself but I really can’t wait for it to come out.

Project: The Perceiver – TBA, PS4, and PS5

This game is giving me single-player Naraka:BLADEPOINT vibes for some reason. Nonetheless, I see it, I like it, and I’m gonna play it. 

Rise of the Ronin – 2024, PS5

This is gonna be a PS5 exclusive, combat-focused open-world action RPG set in 19th-century Japan. It looks like a combination of Ghost of Tsushima and Assasin’s Creed. So definitely gonna be a fun one to play and explore around.

Stellar Blade – 2023, PS5

Formerly known as Project EVE, it is an action-adventure game. The first thing that caught my eye was the character design and from that point, they had my attention. It was set to be released somewhere in 2023 but so far, no announcement has been made. And to be completely frank, I don’t think it’s coming this year. Would love to be proved wrong but I doubt it.

Towers of Aghasba – 2024, PS5 and PC

This is going to be an open-world fantasy game, where players can build settlements and nurture ecosystems. With the potential to build your own ecosystem on a private island and also build villages there, this can be one of those games where you can spend so many hours and still have fun. I do hope customizations aren’t limited and all of us can have unique islands. In which case watch me have the most amazing island out of you all.

It’s safe to say that I’ll have a very interesting year in front of me with so many interesting games coming out. And before you go and say something on the line “Oh what about such and such game”, stop. This is just my narrowed down list of the games I want to play. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t more awesome games or that I won’t be playing any other besides the ones I already listed. I’ll be definitely covering and reviewing most of them.
