5 Best Harry Potter Games

I wouldn’t consider myself a real Potterhead since I’ve never read any of the books but I did marry one. In a sense, it’s even better than reading the book, because every time we watch the movies I’m presented with a random fact or an interesting thing that they’ve left out in the movies. It’s like having my own personal guide every time we rewatch it.

For the past 23 years, there have been numerous game adaptions of this famous series and there are many more to come. So I’ve decided to make a list of my personal favorite Harry Potter games that I’ve played.

1. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

This is the very first Harry Potter game that I played and no matter what, it will always have a special place in my heart. I still have a physical copy of the game back at my parents’ house. I’ve spent countless hours playing it and trying to collect all of the beans and wizard cards. It might be nostalgia talking but it’s definitely my favorite Harry Potter game. No matter how much time passes, I still have fun playing it and I guarantee so will you.

2. Hogwarts Legacy

You might argue that this one isn’t really a Harry Potter game but I beg to differ – there wouldn’t be Hogwarts at all if it wasn’t for Harry. Now that we established that I’m right and you’re wrong, we can move on. The graphics of Hogwarts Legacy were absolutely beautiful and even though I had some comments about improving the game, I still had fun playing it.

3. Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 & 5-7

These are two separate games but I would highly recommend playing them both. People who play both parts usually prefer one part to the other. If you ask me, I enjoyed both equally. And if you’re doubtful about playing it because it’s a Lego game, don’t be. I’ve played a fair share of Lego games and Harry Potter is one of their best.

4. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

This was the second Harry Potter game that I played and even though I don’t have a strong nostalgic feeling about it, I’ve gotta admit it’s a good game. The Order of Phoenix really makes you feel like you’re in a gigantic castle, not to mention the freedom you have to walk around and explore. You’ll definitely have some interesting and memorable experiences with this part. I’d call this a highly underrated game well worth playing.

5. Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup

This is the closest you’ll ever get to playing an actual Quidditch match. You get a chance to play in different stadiums against all sorts of teams. As a kid I had a blast playing Quidditch World Cup — but as an adult I’ve gotta admit that even though I still find it fun, I also think it’s extremely easy to win. A new game heavily focused on Quidditch with a modern design would be extremely successful. Imagine this one with modern graphics and you get to play in the cup, build your own team, and even maybe possibly design your own stadium. That would be a banger I tell you.

Final thoughts

Like I’ve said before, this is the list of my favorite ones. If the game you consider better didn’t end up here, don’t be mad, chill. One thing is that we all can agree on is that we all would love to see some sort of remake/remodel of the original Harry Potter games. If I’m honest with you, the chances for that are probably great. But I guess we have no choice but to wait and see. Until that happens, enjoy these games that are already out.
